IT Specialist

Long Term Technical Assignment 

Democratic Republic of Congo

 

Company Profile: 

SoCha (a portmanteau of Social and Change) is an independent Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) firm that provides bespoke solutions to social challenges. We are a US-registered, veteran-owned small business and staff support offices in Nairobi, Bangkok and Mauritius. SoCha currently supports assistance interventions across Asia and Africa. 

Background: 

SoCha, LLC is contracted to provide technical and advisory services to the United States Agency for International Development in the Democratic Republic of Congo (USAID/DRC) on the 5-year Mission Strategic Support Program (MSSP). The purpose of MSSP is to provide services assisting the mission with strategy and activity-level performance monitoring, evaluation and learning, including conducting data gathering and verification, data visualization, data quality assessments, impact and performance evaluations, assessments, organizational learning, and MEL capacity building.

SoCha is looking for qualified individuals to fill the role of IT Specialist.

Responsibilities: 

The IT Specialist reports to the CLA & Communication Advisor.

The job responsibilities are:

  • Set up and support all technical requirements for in-person and remote meetings with staff, donor and implementing partners and other stakeholders
  • Provide technical support on specifications for IT equipment and job-related applications purchases
  • Assist in setting up and maintaining all IT systems and job-related applications
  • Act as helpdesk to project staff in Kinshasa and MSSP field offices for all ITrelated issues 
  • Ensure optimal familiarity and usage of corporate software applications 
  • Liaise with home office IT specialists as needed on hardware and software job related systems 
  • Any other task requested by the supervisor.

Skills and Experience required: 

  • Have at least a bachelor’s degree in computer science and NICT;
  • Have at least 6 years of professional experience in the field of NICT, particularly the management of platforms, social networks, etc. ;
  • Have at least 6 years of professional experience in managing an organization’s IT assets;
  • 5 + years demonstrated experience in IT, preferably on a donor funded project
  • 5 + years demonstrated experience in IT, preferably on a donor funded project
  • Experience working on USAID projects preferred
  • Proficient in English and French, both written and spoken

Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC)
