Eric Ntumba has a wealth of professional experience, mainly in management positions in the finance sector (Inclusive Banking, Commercial and Investment Banking), in the French civil service as a student at the Ecole Nationale d’Administration and as a researcher in international relations (regional integration) at the Think Tank Policy Center for the New South (Morocco).
In addition to this professional background, he has a high level of academic training, mainly in the fields of computer science and modelling (Master’s degree from North West University / Distinction) and public administration (Master’s degree in Public Administration from the Ecole Nationale d’Administration ENA-France / Highest Distinction).
His professional and academic career has often highlighted his ability to lead people and teams, and to assume a leadership role capable of inspiring, motivating and uniting a group to achieve strategic objectives.
This talent has received international recognition, including his ranking since 2018 in the prestigious « Choiseul Africa 100 » listing the African continent’s economic leaders under 40 (ranked 8th out of 100 in 2021 and 10th out of 100 in 2022). Eric participated in the Atlantic Dialogues Emerging Leaders 2017 program, the Africa France Young Leaders Programme 2017 (first graduating class) and the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders 2014 (first graduating class).
He received the North West University Alumni Award (2013) as well as the North West University Council Medal in 2005 (highest distinction awarded to a student).
Eric is an Honorary Citizen of the City of Fayetteville (Arkansas) and a Goodwill Ambassador for the State of Arkansas (Arkansas Traveller).
Eric also has a proven track record as an administrator, currently acting as an independent director for the DRC New Generation Fund of the King Baudoin Foundation (Belgium), and having served as a director on the boards of the Ecole Nationale d’Administration (ENA France), Bsc IT Honours degree from North West University (SA) and Potchefstroom Universiteit (SA).
Eric has been a mentor for the Lead Campus training program at HEC Paris and a lecturer at ECOPO Lubumbashi. In his spare time, Eric is a writer. His first novel « Une vie après le Styx » won the European Union’s Makomi prize for the best Congolese writer in 2020. Eric is married and father of 3 children.
